Well well, what do you know; apparently 22 April is another 'version' of "Good Married Couple Day" because the number '4' can be used to represent the word 'yoi'; another form of the word 'ii'. I guess it's just one of those things yamapair shipper can use as reasons to spazz about our favorite couple. As if we really needed any reason to xD.
The globe is still not done with 22 April yet; so I guess I can still make it in time for a 'celebratory' update. So here's the latest addition to the 'fishing' post updates for the comm; from Non no. I was just squealing at how clever the theme was being interpreted. We get to see photos of them fishing, eating, talking,eye-se*ing & sleeping together. How much more domestic can they get?
"Camp" is the theme that Ninomiya-kun thought up for Ohno-kun; who had been wishing for outdoor location shoot. "I'd like to see tranquil-looking photos; like fishing,", this request that must be fulfilled; Ohno-kun x Sakurai-kun embarked leisurely to the port in camper-van/RV. We're reporting the harmonious conversation by these two; who fished by the sea and enjoyed meals inside the vehicle.♪
S: It’s been quite some time since we have this type of photoshoot. Though in the past we had several such outdoor location filmings for tv shows and tv commercials.
O: Speaking of which, we all went together to camping sites in Izu and Yamanashi ne. Those were such good times~
S: Have u ever camped in private?
O: I never stayed overnight. Cooking curry and eating it by the riverside, putting up the tent and spending time at the beach; those were pretty much all I’ve done.
S: As for me, when I was a grade-schooler, I remembered that I cooked rice in the mess kit with the boys’ scout club I was in. Also, I had a feeling that when I did astronomical observation for independent studies, I slept in the tent for one night.
O: For a kid, it’s an exciting experience ne. And adding to riding a camper-van/RV; it was something I had always wanted to do.
S: Yeah. My friend had been telling me that he’s gotten into camping ever since his child was born. Having barbeque in the natural environment and such; though it seems like a fun thing to do… somehow I just can’t seem to bring myself to advance on it.
O: I can totally relate! Now, when I heard there’s people camping alone to drink coffee and such; I was shocked. After all, even setting up the tent is a lot of work.
S: A novice would ended up being at a loss ne. If an experienced person would be willing to bring you and make preparations; that would be a different story though xD. By the way, what’s Nii-san’s recent outdoor ‘situation’?
O: Fishing; as usual. It was a big catch for this new year too!♪ In summer I hope to go fishing for mahi-mahi with Sho-kun. The size is on the big side, and they give good amount of resistance; it’s interesting, y'know.
S: That’ll be nice! As for me, in these past few years, I’ve gone skiing 3-4 times in a single season; if I can take long vacations, I want to ski outside Japan too. The first choice would be Switzerland, I guess.
O: For me, of course I prefer the sea. It’s been a dream of mine to spend time leisurely in a cottage on foreign waters.
S: Aaa~ that’s appealing too…hey, we’re deviating from (the topic) camping ne xD. Come to think of it, I think the one who’s eager to camp is pretty much only Aiba-kun, don’t you think so? Matsujun might be interested in it too, but he can't stand the insects.
O: I think I can imagine Nino playing his video games in the tent xD. If the 5 of us ride together on the camper-van/RV, where will we go?
S: Hmm… places which the greenery stretched as far as the eyes can see, like the prairies?
O: (mutters) It’s probably gonna be scary at night…
S: You’re right. There’s no other people around and there could be wild animals approaching!
O: Also, if we're staying for long, toilet and bathing is going to be a concern. I wonder what should we do.
S: True. If the 5 of us together, we might fight over on where to sleep. Perhaps we’re just not cut out for camping. If this is the case, how about if we travel around in the camper-van/RV and then stay over at some hotel? xD
O: That would be the most harmonious. (grins)

The current issue's [Arashibunnoni] is Ohno Satoshi x Sakurai Sho with the theme "Arashi's Camp"
Please observe such fine display of good weather! Inside the vehicle the two of them were truly relaxing and chitchatting; among the subjects were "What did you eat yesterday?", "Have you been exercising?", they exchanged updates on their private lives. The highlights are: 'Ohno-san LOLing', 'Sakurai-san's gaze' and 'Nii-san reference' xD.
This time, the shooting were done inside the RV at the port. Even though among Arashi members, the two of them love being outdoor, they also dislike handling bothersome things. In regards to traveling in a camper-van/RV, they said: "We probably... won't do this in private xD". So in other words; these photos ended up being 'rare' shots by accident (pushy・xD) Please look forward to it (≧∇≦)

Yeah, that wd be so wonderful when it happens, ne.
As for the request, I had skimmed through the link and I feel that I might not be able to post the translation up here due to the fact that it's a speculation-based commentary post(with compilation of actual facts); but I think I can send the translation to you for private reading :D. Would that be alright?
I do think the page is rather interesting and had stuffs I can consider for actual entries here, so thank so much for the suggestion! *hugs*

Okaeri~ I think I still havent figured out how to move around in DW when it comes to getting fandom stuffs, tho I think it shd be almost the same with LJ.
Actually, I've sort of jumped into another fandom since mid 2016; which explains why there's no new updates here. My new fandom is still a Johnny's group, so in some ways I'm still sort of tied to Arashi, if you know what i mean //winks

Date: 2018-01-04 04:34 am (UTC)I got into Arashi around 2007. It was right around Kokuritsu/AAA. Found out about them after watching Aiba sugoroku. There were still some youtube clips floating around at that time I think. hilarious show. Things kinda got busy for me and I took a break around 2014. Wasn't even able to go to their Hawaii concert because of real life work.
How did you get into Arashi? Which JE group are you into now? Have you been to any JE concerts? :)
no subject
Date: 2018-01-04 05:12 am (UTC)I agree, I also don't think I'm willing to jump on another 'entrance test' for the same comm that moved to DW xD
Aiba Sugoroku was one of the finest thing that ever graced this earth, even if you're one of the very rare ppl who got baited into Arashi through that ^^.
That's quite refreshing; I'm always curious of what goes into the mind when one first discover something new and then making the decision whether to dismiss it as a random encounter or making that plunge into the unknown and eventually gotten stuck in it xD
I got into Arashi in 2005, after watching Gokusen 1; my twin got curious and found out that one of the main guy is a member of Arashi. The interesting thing was that we saw Nino's drama a few months before that, so when we also saw him in Arashi, it probably adds to the curiosity. Tho it was only after I met another Arashi fan(who ws an angel <3) that I decided to become a fan. I went to their concert in Taipei for AAA 2008; but that was it ^^.
I dont remember ever taking a break from following Arashi and their regular shows for the whole decade. So it was really a huge thing when I stopped doing that, as if my whole life routine changed. Haha, sorry that sounds a bit too dramatic, I have to admit.
It was an 'amiable separation' though, it's not like I left the fandom in a huff due something that happened but I just woke up one day and stopped.
Right now I'm into Johnny's WEST. I can tell you though, that I used to have such a strong prejudice against them when I was following Arashi for many reasons that was actually baseless. >.<
So eventually I got 'smacked in the face' for having such flawed thoughts xD haha. The rest is history.

Date: 2018-01-04 05:22 am (UTC)Wish Aiba would bring his crazy ideas to Shiyagare. That stuff was gold! Even starting from A no Arashi he was doing some interesting stuff. Can't imagine One Direction having a show and doing chikubi tshirts. LOL
I guess most fans got into Arashi through HYD. Man how did i find and download fansubs back then. The internet connection must have been mind boggling slow.
I know what you mean by Nino. I first saw him in Letter from Iwo Jima and then found out that guy with stocking mask was the same person. 😄😄😄
Are you from Taiwan that you were at Taipei concert? That's awesome you were able to go. Hoping Arashi will do another world tour.
I know what you mean. To go from being dedicated to one fandom and stopping can feel like a big separation. Your foot is still in the door though with JE. :) Did you watch the Johnny's West Netflix show then?

Date: 2018-01-04 06:35 am (UTC)My feelings on the comm rules was probably because I personally don't depend on subs or translations except for the sake of promoting Arashi to others (of course one can say that Arashi NEEDS no promoting xD)
I also know many who do need subs and sometimes they're at the mercy of these comms esp if they dont quite fulfill the 'requirements'. It's just not newbie-friendly xD
I do understand that it doesn't feel good to see yr works being 'stolen', and my translations here are also open to such risks. I've actually seen it happened but... well, am I weird for thinking it's an indirect compliment? since those ppl are so confident in my translation that they'd made it appear as their own? It sometimes took days, weeks or even months for me to finally feel confident enough to publish stuffs I translated here, for instance. My only concern wd be that anyone coming up to me and told me I'm stealing someone else's works and not crediting, when it was actually mine! //le gasp xD
It's such a sad thing that the production team for the earlier shows and shiyagare arent the same one; there were so many gems that wd have been great if they were allowed to carry those traditions on. I mean, who would say no to another laidback Uda Uda Special? Even if they can no longer do those "No Money SP", but yeah, for laughs it wd have been awesome. I've never really followed One Direction, but if they had done silly things like that; I'd probably might start having interest. I have this thing about image gap xD.
Oh my, internet connection; I remember my home ws still using dial-up when I first got into Arashi. A clip less than 5 mins wd take an hour to dload; if the connection didn't reset itself midway, that is. xD At one point my twin gave up trying and simply told everyone in the forum she was in abt our situation and a girl offered to burn EVERYTHING she has in CDs and meet up with us since she was living nearby. It was such a miracle that there's another fan within our vicinity at that time.
I'm actually from Malaysia, the trip to Taipei was another miracle because I wasn't expecting to go at all in the beginning. Another angel suddenly offered me tix that she had as extras (we just knew each other a month before that and she was actually living in another country), so that was really a special experience in the fandom for me. I hope you'll get to their concert one day. Where are you from, may I ask?
Haha, sometimes I wonder why I still haven't gotten into kpop like most people; but there's just something about JE groups that I don't think I can find anywhere else, although I'm open to be proven wrong. ^^
Yeah, I did watch the netflix show. Before they announced it, I remembered talking to my twin that I wished to see them all act together in a movie or something like that (because prior to the netflix show, they only had movies and dramas with only some members in it). By then I've seen most of their acting works and they even had a regular show which had them write their own scripts and act in short dramas. I know how most people(non-fans) say that the netflix show was 'crazy' (in either good or bad way), but it was exactly the style that I feel the most fitting for their group.
How about you? Did you manage to watch it?
(Gosh, I'm seriously testing the wordcount limit for DW comment >.<)

Date: 2018-01-05 12:39 am (UTC)I understand what you mean. I think some people don't understand how much effort and time it takes to translate articles/videos especially I think most translators want make sure the translations are accurate. Some people just like the attention of getting thanked/recognized so that's why the steal and don't credit. But like you said it's kinda like an indirect compliment :)
Oh ya the Uda Uda and No Money episodes were good. I guess they can't keep doing super silly stuff now that they're older. Though... Aiba did come up with the idea of the otaku/gyaru theme for the recent concert. LOL. I think most groups/actors I become interested in, it's usually through something interesting in their videos/interviews and then songs/movies afterwards.
I'm from the US. I've never been to Malaysia but would like to go one day. It's easier to be a fan of Japanese movies/music in asian countries since sometimes movies and music/concerts may make it over there. We usually get the jrock groups at least. :)
For me, I think if I found some fansubs i might get into fansubs. The one thing I don't like about Kpop is that the singers all seem to be heavily more make-up'ed/made up. Wish they had a more natural look like JE idols.
How did you like the Johnny's west show? I've got it saved on my Netflix but am working towards it. I think most people think Japanese shows are kinda weird. But weird and funny/fun at the same time IMO. Rewatching 99.9 since the second season is coming out.
It's been nice talking to you on here. I don't get to meet alot of JE fans since I've just come back. Always feels like I'm intruding on other people's circles/conversations. Are you on twitter by chance?
