2008.8.2 - 8: MAGAZINE (TV GUIDE) - "GOLD MEDAL"

For this issue, they're promoting the single "Truth" along with the Olympics as the theme. Of course, these two aspects when combined; totally filled my fluffy shipping hat *winks*. So this was one of the questions which Sho answered:

金メダルはホントにハードルが高いと思うんだよね．．．。だから銀がいい？”何でもおいしく食べられるオリンピック”の銀メダル！金メダルはやっぱり大野さんですよ。だって十数年前の炭酸飲料とか飲めちゃうんだよ？かなわないよ（笑）。

~Which Olympics do you think you can win gold medal?~
I do think that the hurdle for gold medal is really high, ne... so, is it okay if it's silver instead? The silver medal for "Being able to eat anything so deliciously" Olympics! The one who gets gold medal is Ohno-san, of course. After all, he simply gulped down decades-old carbonated drink, okay? There's no way I could top that. XD

"decades-old carbonated drink," <<< I've seen this in gif once, but I haven't watched it yet. But, really? Didn't he get sick over it or something? xp

Sho-chan's such a devoted wife, willingly stepping down to give all glory to the hubby. I've always thought of him as extremely competitive too, which just makes reading him say this seem all the more sweeter. <3

He drank it in one of the episodes in D no Arashi; when they go to an abandoned theme park. They poured a bottle that was left at the canteen for as long as the place had been neglected, in a tall glass and got him to drink it, so he simply drank and said it tasted normal. What made him freak out was when someone (I think it was Aiba) told him that the glass was from the canteen too (meaning they didn't wash it up before using it). Around that time, it seems like Ohno managed to survive eating a lot of aged foods... but he gets stomache when he overindulges on yakiniku, so really... I don't really understand his digestive system xD

I also thought that it was really sweet of Sho to choose a 'competition' that lets Ohno win and have himself as runner-up. <3
