2013 OCTOBER: MAGAZINE (MONTHLY TV GUIDE) - "ARASHI NATIONAL REFERENDUM"
Hello again, dearies! I'm popping out again from my usual I-wanna-update-but-guh-maybe-tomorrow (often) short-term lazy syndrome~
This was published around 24HR TV this year; it was actually a survey consisting of 10 questions that was done between 12th to 16th August 2013, notified through twitter with the votes sent in through e-mails. About 300 people responded to the survey, which the magazine compiled and announced in this issue. Among the questions were: "What's your favorite drama/movie character acted by this member?", "With whom do you want this member to act with?", "What kind of food do you want to eat with this member?", "Which historical figure do you think most befitting in character with this member?", among others.
Basically the magazine stated what's the most voted for each members in every category (except for one question; where they lined up the top 3 for each members), with the 'runner-ups' mentioned briefly. Comments that were considered worthy to be mentioned were briefly included. No actual counts of votes were given.
So what caught my eye was for one category, which was the 6th question: "If Arashi is a family...?"; where the respondents voted for the most suitable familial role for each member. Which role did Ohno and Sho get the most according to the survey?
An overwhelming number of votes for 'father'. "He seems kind/gentle."(16yo | f), "Because he's supporting Arashi"(20yo | f) and "The family head = Leader" were among the reasons that were generally agreed upon.
There's even such comment!: The reason given for likening Leader as father; "Because he has the same aura as my Dad."(32yo | f). It's very much a personal reason, but we understand that feeling.
"Because (he) seems like husband and wife with Ohno-kun." (20yo | f), is the majority view (for choosing Sho as mother). Among other reasons were: "I feel like (he) might ask me, 'Have you done your homework?' "(14yo | f), "Seems like he is strict about various things."(14yo | f); it appears that he has a strong image of being a mother who has a firm character.
Below is the illustration provided in the magazine, which shows the other members' respective roles that they were voted the most. Please note that I've edited the image to erase out article text and to put everyone in a single image.
Translation for speech bubbles:

What do you guys think? Somehow I'm reminded by the radioshow I've translated before here. Randomness that came up in 2001 is still relevant this year, haha.
Actually there's another category that made my fluffy shipping-helmet beeped. The question is: "Which manga would you like to see each member act in, and what's the character?".
Ohno received the most votes for "Shingeki no Kyojin"(Attack on Titan) as "Lance Corporal Levi":
As for Sho, although he was most voted to act in "Detective Conan" as "Shinichi Kudo", it was also noted that he also received votes to act in Shingeki no Kyojin as "Eren Jaeger".
So the basis is that they both have physical likeness to the two characters; now everytime I'm watching the anime, I can't help but see Ohno and Sho for their respective characters xD. There was no mention of any other members being voted for Shingeki no Kyojin in the survey result.
Come to think of it, before I watched the anime, I saw a photo-shopped image of Ohno and Sho as Levi and Eren (at the time I didn't have any idea who the characters were) in weibo. To me, Levi is like a combination of Naruse and Kei Enomoto while Eren and Sho resembles each other in personality; stubborn and passionate about things they believe in.

But when I saw the main reason being given for it... wow. I wonder if Sho had seen this particular article, how would he react? xD I really want to see them do a 'family skit' with yama as parents/married couple on tv. Although the King & Queen was a very close one :D
From what I could recall, the reason Nino was chosen as a pet was because of his independent and heck-care attitude? I need to re-read that part when I get home to make sure though xD.
I'm not much of an anime-watcher; so I only watch selected few, once in a blue moon. Somehow the premise of the story lured me in, and when I started to watch it, I seriously love the animation's quality and details. One of my friend who started watching the anime after I told her about it, she actually ended up marathoning up to 13 episodes(if i'm not mistaken that was the farthest episode aired and subbed so far at the time)within the same night xD.
Whenever I see Eren and his huge green eyes were prominent in the scene, I'd think "Ha, Ohno would like this HUGE, ROUND eyes." <3

wow actually Ohno is the most perfect for Levi since they kinda look similar and i know Ohno can act Levi perfectly :P
and lol Sho as Eren a little hard to imagine but his passion definitely similar and anything for Yama act together<3

It's actually amusing that u're using 'even' in this context, since the term 'married couple' did come from the fandom in the 'motherland'. I remembered reading one of the japanese discussion board for yama shippers and they were spazzing along the lines of: "even international fans acknowledge Yama as married couple<3" :D Adorable, isn't it?
Haha, Eren and Sho has huge eyes, and well... they're both sort of scary when they were kids xD. Both has fair share of fails and gets really fired up with their convictions. The exact opposite of Levi. But yeah, it all leads up to wanting Ohno and Sho to act together *hi5s*

Despite shipping yama for more than half of my fandom life; I'm always pleasantly surprised when I see people sharing the same idea as I do when it comes to those two <3. Like, "Yeah, they're so married in my mind, but you think the same too??? YAY~" *hi5s*
The illustration is adorable; but seriously is it just me or both Ohno and Sho in that illustration have the same aura as the parents in the 24HR TV SP drama Ohno acted in? xD
SnK; so far I've known ppl who practically finished the episodes aired so far in a single day. Apparently it's THAT addictive. I took 2 days for the first 13 eps(because I needed to sleep enough for work the next day xD). I hope you'll find the chance to watch them and see if you can enjoy it.

I'm happy that even in 2013 fans are still seeing the 2 eldest as the 'pillars' for the group; despite their rather mellowed down and laidback personalities. <3 It was so funny to find out that Sho was chosen as the 'mom'; with most of the reasons were given because he's like Ohno's spouse xD. epic ne?
It would be enough for me to know if Arashi (especially yamapair) actually read/watches Shingeki no Kyoujin; I'm just easy to please that way. xD

Sho-chan is really the epitome of 良妻賢母/ryōsai kenbo (Good Wife, Wise Mother); at least that's how some Japanese fans were referring him to. Even housewives were saying "Oh god Sho, you make me feel like such a failure xD."

Levi and Eren seems to be such an unexpected pairing; since one of them only sort of appear halfway later... but they have such an interesting chemistry together with contrasting personalities, I feel that it's inevitable. It would be wonderful to see yama acting together in roles such as these xD
