2007.08.24: Radioshow (ARASHI DISCOVERY) - "AMONG HUNDRED THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE"
So, counting down to the 9th anniversary since that 'fated meeting' at Tenjin Festival in Osaka, which will be in 2 weeks' time; I'm posting yet another mention of this special occasion.
As usual, Ohno answered questions from his listeners. For this particular question though, he wasn't even answering it for most of the part.
"From summer till autumn there's various festival being held at different places. There's a lot of 'yatai' (food carts) during these festivals; Leader, which yatai do you prefer?"
I see. Festivals... I haven't been to any... especially nowadays.
Well, yatai. Hmmm, which would it be?
I like candied apple. Yeah. But I don't really eat it all that much, eheh.
But you see, for me, when it comes to festivals, there's one thing that I thought was so amazing; about 3 years ago I went to Tenjin Festival in Osaka.
That was just about the time when Arashi will be having concert in Osaka the next day.
That's why the day before I said to my manager "Lets go and check it out~" and went with him.
Then we walked the whole time, watching the fireworks, ne. Together with my manager, hehehe.
When we were walking, there was Sho Sakurai; among hundred thousands of people.
Did Sho-kun spot me too?
Sho-kun also arrived in Osaka earlier, and went to the festival with his friends.
It was so unexpected, that meeting. To find an Arashi member among hundred thousands of people.
I thought, "Ain't this close to a miracle?"; even till now Sho-kun and I still talk about it.
Yeah, when summer comes we'd reminisce, "That was amazing, ne."

By the by, I have been following each of these posts with the old audio clips and accompanying translations and I've meant to thank you for sharing them! I love Ohno's radio show, but my conversational ear isn't so good so unless I can see kana or kanji for what's being said I sometimes get lost. Your transcriptions are very, very useful and I appreciate your efforts!

erin told me you're both gonna meet for the first time, so I hope everything will turn out great and smooth. :D
*hi5s* I also have a soft spot for tenjin festival story, it's nice that they keep going back to it; and yeah... actually counting the years made me feel kinda ancient too xD *pats both of us*
i'm so glad to know you're following these, to be fair I also don't have much confidence with my listening skills so some of the audio transcriptions I provided here were based on transcriptions(sometimes very rough ones) done by Japanese fans that cd be found on blogs. Since that's how I discovered that there's actually 'gems' to listen out for.
But I will try to find if there's recording available so I can listen to it myself and check/verify the transcript and make corrections; which can make a world difference to what they're actually saying. Sometimes I do wonder if there's any need to include Japanese transcripts in these posts, so it's really nice to know that it's useful to you.
Thanks again for taking the time to read and share your thoughts! *hugs*

Sorry I've never commented on anything before, I'm sort of awful about remembering to do that sometimes. I'll try to be better about it in the future, because I know it's always appreciated to have support for things you work on!
And yes! Tomorrow night. X_x I STILL HAVE SO MUCH TO CLEAN BEFORE I LEAVE, OH GOD. *pulls out fistfuls of hair* But it's looking like it's going to be a lot of fun and I'm super looking forward to it. Also, I enjoy traveling even if it can be stressful at times, so I'm kind of looking forward the plane ride(s).
I think the transcriptions are very helpful, haha. I follow them as I listen to the audio and then read the translation. It's a lot of fun, actually. A lot more fun than flashcards. ;A;
Please keep up the hard work! I'll try to be better about leaving comments in the future. ♥

I totally understand, because I'm also quite awful on commenting xD. Despite whatever I might feel when I read stuffs, when I can't find the words to express, this OCD part of me just resists leaving simple comments. Then I tell myself, maybe when I get home... maybe when tomorrow comes... maybe when I have better ways to convey my thoughts... weeks turns to months, and... you know how that goes xD. It's always awesome to receive comments, that's for sure; but I try not to judge when people don't. That's why I make it a point to reply on all the comments I receive, to remind myself of how challenging that can be. THIS particular comment you made here shall sustain me till you come to share your thoughts next time, I promise, so don't you worry about it
Ooh, plane rides! Sadly,I haven't been on many; but I do love them too~ So I can imagine the excitement! Guh, preparation-related stress xD I'm sure, it's gonna be so much fun, an extended slumber party, somewhat? I still can't believe it's your first time meeting her! I mean, you both really clicked; it's awesome seeing you girls interacted around online and it also shows in how you wrote the awesomeness that was BC (no, I'm totally not stalking *ahem*) Really, do have fun, dear angels!
Like you, I also would appreciate it if the original transcription is included in translations; because it's useful for Japanese learners and also because many things can be lost in translations so it's nice to provide ways for some readers who has certain degrees in Japanese reading comprehension to grasp the actual nuance and context that couldn't be fully conveyed in English. And yes, with audios, transcriptions make it easier to know what they're actually saying. Seriously I respect anyone who does transcripting for full radioshows on regular basis because even for snippets like this, even simply verifying transcriptions can take me an hour or two.
Thanks again for sharing your thoughts <3

^This. This exactly. I try to reply to every single comment someone leaves me, even if someone comes through and leaves a comment on a ton of different entries all in one go. I also thank everyone who leaves me comments, even if it sounds kind of cheesy because, hey, I really do appreciate the effort, even for simple comments.
The last time I was on a plane (and it was also the first time I ever traveled by plane) it was to see
And don't worry about being a stalker, I honestly kind of have to laugh (happily and good naturedly!) when people say such things to us because it's kind of incredibly that it's something people even think about. Someone left a comment over at Stand A Little Closer once saying that she thought of
It seems like providing transcriptions along with translations is becoming a more frequent thing in this fandom, and I think it's a wonderful, wonderful trend for all of the reasons you listed. So yeah, since you wondered if anyone gets anything out of it, I definitely do!

Wow, I can sort of relate with what you said about the fandom taking you to more places; but it's always feel rather surreal thinking how some ppl may simply diss fandom of being intangible but it actually opened up so much opportunity for life experiences.
Just recently a friend of mine mistaken you for erin; but you know, I swear when one of you posted up something somewhere; I always have to do a double take to confirm which one of you was it despite the obvious difference of userpics. I think it's more of the aura that you both let off, ppl tend to sniff that one first. xD
Even when I discovered BC w/o knowing your identities, at first I even thought it's a single person doing two roles. I'm not saying this to mean that the 2 characters were the exact same, because they weren't; but I thought it's impossible for 2 people to have that much chemistry online because seriously it felt like looking at yama on-screen and you know that most of the time it's because of the long years of them being together xD.
I will keep my motivation in typing out transcription all the more now! I appreciate your encouragements for this <3

thank you for translating it! <3

I seriously wished I was the cricket that was flying around the moment they discovered each other at the festival; just to see the expressions on their faces //cue MISIA's EVERYTHING
thank you so much for reading and commenting, dearest~ <3

Among hundred thousand people.... *tearing*
and they talk about that even till now......
years go by but they'll never forget that miracle.
Thanks x sharing hun <3

Yeah, to have look at it as a miracle is quite awesome. And the latest mention about it ws from last year (thanks HnA staffs for not canning that part out completely!). I wonder if they're gonna talk about it this year too? XD
Thank you always for sharing your thoughts with me <3

it feels so nice reading/hearing about the story any time, so thank you as always <333

Yeah, I wonder if there's going to be something really epic happening on this 25th; I don't mind if it's really random and unexpected, just as long as we could trace back to this fated meeting :D
As for me, I don't really know if I actually have anything special in order to celebrate; perhaps just update yama moments as always xD (I'm bad at celebrating bdays and anniversaries *crawls*)
thanks for reading, love!

They really liked telling & repeating stories of this miraculous, fated Tenjin Matsuri meeting to other people.. they really cherished those moments, I'm sure of it~
(✿ ♥‿♥)
So, 'Kiseki' must be the second official song for these two after 'You're Everything' XDDD
thanks for sharing, Nee-chan! ✿◠‿◠

*hi5s*yeah, I also think summer might be their fave season.
but then I think about the other three seasons which cd be just as important to them, Sho's birthday in winter, Ohno's birthday in autumn... and you know Ohno's train of thoughts about spring: spring → sakura → sakura(i) *winks* So really, it's tough to choose, don't you think? xD
'Kiseki' from Greeeen, u mean? That's such a nice song to relate to this memory, I feel <3
Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts, darling!
