2007.07.10: Radioshow (MORNING STEPS) - "HAIR CUT"

This was during TIME album promotion when Ohno appeared in this show, the DJ is Kurihara-san; who is the DJ in Arashi's Discovery, in case you were curious about his voice being familiar. So in general, the talks were centered around haircuts somehow. In this snippet, Kurihara-san was reading one of the listener's mail. I have to give a hand to Kurihara-san for focusing on a 'certain' member that led me into posting this up.

栗原：「キャプテンは去年、映画のために黒髪だった時期もありましたが、今年の夏はどんなヘアスタイルにするのか予定はありますか？」
大野：あ、そっか。去年は映画で黒かったですね。でもやっぱ、夏だから短くて少し茶色かな？
栗原：ああ、なるほどね。あとは短くして、ガーッと上に逆立てちゃえばいいやって。
大野：そんな感じですね。
栗原：(笑)
大野：ライブとかツアーやると、踊ったりするじゃないですか。
栗原：うん。
大野：髪の毛がなんかペタペタ汗でくっつくのがもう嫌なんです。
栗原：あー、そうなんだ。
大野：うざったくなっちゃうから、だからもう短くして立ててスプレーで固めて動かないようにした方がスッキリするみたい。
栗原：まぁ、そうやって今、こうやって嵐のメンバー見ると、大野くんがダントツで短いですね。
大野：短いですね。
栗原：ええ。松本さんとか櫻井さんなんて結構長いですけど。じゃあ、見ててどうですか？
大野：えっ、どうだろう。翔くんとかの前髪は無理ですね。
栗原：自分にはあり得ない長さだ(笑)
大野：昔はでもこんくらいあったんですよ。
栗原：ああ・・・。このアルバムのジャケットで見ると、櫻井さんはもう横に流してるから目が出てますけど、完全にもう鼻ぐらいまで行っちゃいそうですね。
大野：伸ばしたりしたらね。
栗原：コンサートで横で見てると、なんかちょっと自分で切ってあげたくなっちゃうくらいの勢いですか？
大野：僕ね、人の髪の毛切るの好きなんですよ。
栗原：えっ。さすが、自分で切るだけあって。
大野：長い髪をバッサリ切るのが。
栗原：ああ。
大野：すっごい好きですね。
栗原：ああ、じゃあ注意が必要だね、櫻井くんあたりはね。楽屋で寝てる間に。
大野：切ってやろうかと思って(笑)
栗原：(笑)

DJ: "Captain, last year you had a phase when your hair was black because you were doing a movie; what kind of hairstyle do you plan to have for summer this year?"
O: Ah, that was it, right... Last year I had it black because of the movie, ne. But I guess, since it's summer, as usual I'm gonna have it short and brownish?
DJ: Ah, I see! Then you're gonna cut it short and have it styled up.
O: Something like that, I guess.
DJ: XD
O: When we do concerts or tours, we have to dance, don't we?
DJ: Yep.
O: I really hate having my hair sticking with sweats.
DJ: Ooh, that's why.
O: It'll feel very irritating to me, so I'll cut it short and then style it up with hair spray so it won't move; it feels more refreshing that way.
DJ: Well... to do it like that, now... when you style it like this, looking at Arashi's members; Ohno-kun's the shortest by far.
O: It's short, ne.
DJ: Yeah, Matsumoto-san's or Sakurai-san's hair is quite long, right? What do you think, looking at them?
O: Eh, I wonder. Sho-kun's bangs are impossible, I think.
DJ: You can't imagine having that length for your hair...
O: Well, in the past I used to keep it even up to that length.
DJ: Aah... If we look at this album jacket; since the hair is combed to the sides so his eyes are visible, but the length seems to reach down to his nose, ne.
O: If he let it down all the way, ne.
DJ: During concerts, looking at him from the side, does it make you feel like you wanted to give him a hair cut?
O: You know, I love cutting other people's hair.
DJ: Ehh, but of course, since you cut your own hair.
O: To cut that long hair in a single stroke.
DJ: Aaa...
O: I really love doing that...
DJ: Then those around Sakurai-kun will need to warn him, ne. While he's sleeping in the dressing room.
O: I feel like I want to give it a cut XD
DJ: XD

Well, my twin used to listen to a lot of Ohno's radio promotions and she once told me about this particular one years before even though I didn't even bother to listen to it myself back then; but the gist of it stayed long in my memory.

Spazzing with another fanpal about their haircuts suddenly remind me of this, so I went to search for the source once again. So here it is <3

I do think it's funny that DJ Kurihara suddenly directing the answers focusing on Sho; and Ohno just took the 'bait' xD

I knew Ohno like short hairs, since boku concert and he was all over Jun's short hair.. blah blah....

Oh yes, I also love how they laughed in the end; it was so heartfelt and pure amusement.

Yeah, he has always shown preferences to short hairs, ne? The way he just did that kari-age style on his own as soon as he was done with Kagiheya project xD. This is also the reason why it makes me smile gleefully everytime Sho gets a haircut.

DJ Kurihara is an awesome man; my twin said that she believe he's a huge fan of Ohno too, although Ohno's AD is actually mediated by Kurihara, they don't get to meet often and so when they do have direct interviews such as this one, the DJ would get very excited about it. So yeah, I cant help feeling amused that he's pushing Sho's hair into the topic for Ohno to respond to.

If Ohno actually attempted to cut Sho's hair and Sho opened his eyes just moments before; I can't imagine the commotion that cd have happened. I think they would probably need to get a restraining order for Sho's 'safety'; but I think the one filing that order won't be Sho himself(could be the manager xD).

And Sho would be all conflicted about the situation xD.

Yeah, I'm also curious about the kind of hairstyle he would give Sho; if given the chance.

Ohno might cut it even more properly compared to how he would for himself.

The dialogues are very cute xD I imagine Ohno looking rather smug about it, for sure.

Somehow this train of thoughts reminds me of some of the epic works you've written in this genre xD

Like I mentioned in one the comment replies above; their manager might get a restraining order for Sho's safety; while the person himself might feel conflicted about being stripped apart from his Leader.

And this can also lead to all stuffs Ohno might do "while Sho's asleep".

Yeah, it was convenient that the DJ was leading him into focusing more on Sho in this convo; I wonder if DJ Kurihara is also as intrigued about yamapair as much as we do? xD

Haha, I wonder how long your hair is now? I almost never let my hair down, so there's no problem of hair sticking with sweats for me xD

Ah, that IS long. :D but natural curls at the end of the strands are really lovely to look at, so I can understand why you don't cut it.

My hair is generally wavy; so even if i keep it long, it wdnt appear to be so. and I tend to cut my hair on my own randomly; like Ohno. xD

I remember I tried to cut my own hair when I was in senior high school and failed XD it was too short that it couldn't be fixed anymore >,< so that's the first and the last time for me XDDD
