2009 OCTOBER: MAGAZINE (WINK UP) - "ENDEARING SMILE"
Hey, it's me again; I think I'm starting to get a hang of actually updating this place often *touch wood*. Well, in this particular issue, Ohno and Sho were paired for a cross-talk, where the main theme was 'source of energy'.
"Could you tell us what recent happenings that made you feel 'Aaah, I'm all charged up!' ?"
S: For me, the other day I went to see fireworks display. Which reminds me; in the past I've unexpectedly met up with Ohno-san at the Tenjin Festival in Osaka, perhaps I haven't gotten to watch any (fireworks display) since then. Well, although it wasn't really so much of a relaxed activity that one can actually recharge by doing it, since I could actually watch it directly from my friend's house, I could satisfyingly enjoy the fireworks in comfort.
O: I also saw it, the fireworks. On my way back from fishing, travelling through the Aqua-Line (Tokyo Bay), so I could watch it upfront.
S: Eh, really... But I was at the mansion nearby to the place where they do the fireworks' launching, probably it was more close-up where I was at.
O: Nah, if you're too close it's harder to view for sure! Besides, I came back with a lot of catches, so I think I'm even luckier!
S: No way, I was watching (the fireworks) while eating abalone steak, I was so full!!
O: I also ate the fish I caught before returning, I was full too!!
S: Oh darn it! It's hopeless. I can't go beyond that!
O: Because I should be the happiest person on that day, right? XD
S: No doubt about it. You get to fish, then eat the fishes and watch fireworks. It's a perfect day indeed. XD
O: You'd think so too, right? While fishing, I get to bask in the sun; so it is recharging in true sense.
S: Of course, it's enjoyable getting to do what what one likes and being around agreeable people, right? Recently I went out with 6 or 7 friends to eat grilled meat, then we went karaoke and after we're done (with karaoke), we went to eat again at a soba place. It was nothing particularly special, but it was so much fun.
O: That's true. Even for me, if I had to go fishing alone, I think it wouldn't be so enjoyable. Since I can't rejoice (with others) XD.
S: Sailing out and fishing on your own, then eating fishes alone... If that was the case, it won't be leisure but survival, don't you think? XD
"The energy that you receive from fans, does it become your source of high spirits?
S: Of course! The most prominent would be during concerts. Don't you feel the thrill? That moment when the lights among the audience starting to dim and they go "WA~!" with excitement.
O: I thought that was the moment that hit me the most. It made me believe that maybe we and the fans mutually share the same feelings.
S: The fans are enthusiastic, but we're also excited too. Up to that time, we had been doing our rehearsals in an inorganic rehearsal room, but when we see our fans in front of our eyes, really, our tension just gone straight up. But even if they're not fans, for instance at the street when someone called out to me and say; "I watched Himitsu no Arashichan! Sakurai-kun, please try a bit harder~", it makes me happy too.
O: Ah, it's the same for me too. They asked me "Are you alright, Leader?" XD
S: They must have watched our shows to be saying those things to us, so it makes me glad; but even for them to know our names makes me happy. In the past, was it in Osaka? There were people who asked "Hey hey, who are you?" XD. When I think back of such a time, to have people knowing our names and even the contents of our tv shows is a great thing.
O: The other day, I was mistaken for Sho-kun, you know. A drunk office worker called out to me, "Oh, it's Yatterman!" XD
S: Maybe he was relating Arashi to Yatterman, I guess XD. There's quite a lot of such happenings; I too have people telling me, "I never missed out on watching "Maou" XD. Since I didn't appear in it, I simply responded with "Thank you, I shall tell him that. XD But it's not about the scale of the support; but more to the very fact that our presence is known and our shows are being enjoyed by them that becomes encouragement for us.
S: For me, I bought an electric fan. It's nice you know... I was able to get pleasant sleep. It was cooling, but even more than that, I love the sound. It brings back fond memories. It reminds me of things like Grandpa's house and such, I guess? For your birthday, shall I give you one?
O: No, it's fine. After all, my birthday is during winter, okay XD. Speaking of purchases; I thought of making a huge drawing, so I bought a board.
S: Oh, it's been a while! This time, what style do u have in mind?
O: I'm thinking of doing something fine and detailed again.
S: You're a Do-M (extreme masochist) XD
O: Even I have always thought that I'm a Do-M, but lately I'm starting to wonder if I'm actually a Do-S (extreme sadist). Because I'm tormenting myself. It feels sort of irresistible, to torture myself... is that SM? XD
S: Solitary SM XD. That is what gives power to Ohno-san, I guess XD.

"By the way, what are the things that became a source of power to yourself most recently?"
S: For me, I bought an electric fan. It's nice you know... I was able to get pleasant sleep. It was cooling, but even more than that, I love the sound. It brings back fond memories. It reminds me of things like Grandpa's house and such, I guess? For your birthday, shall I give you one?
